When is it........FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2006
The 6th
annual Lanie Hannah Benefit Scramble (The Lanie) will be held on Friday,
September 22, 2006, at Canyon West Golf Course in Weatherford, Texas.
The Lanie features an 18-hole, 4 man scramble with afternoon shotgun
start, contests, awards, kids’
activities, participant meals, raffle drawings, silent and live auctions
and entertainment. Guest meal tickets will be available for purchase at
the pavilion.
The
Lanie Hannah Benefit Fund is a non-profit corporation that has been
organized for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section
501(c)(3) with primary interest in raising funds for Spinal Muscular
Atrophy (SMA) research. SMA is an inherited neuromuscular disease that
affects the voluntary muscles. It involves muscle weakness as a result
of lack of stimulation of muscles by nerves and is life threatening. SMA
affects thousands of people, including Lanie Hannah, and currently there
is no cure or treatment.
Thanks
to generous support from golfers, donors and sponsors, the previous five
tournaments have allowed our organization to donate just under $200,000,
all of which has been ear-marked for research.
Many
great strides are being made toward curing this disease, and with your
support each dollar brings us closer to a cure. Thank you for your time
and interest and we hope that you too will become a supporter of SMA
research.
